<br />In reply to your letter of February 8, 1988 requesting information on the
<br />irrigated acreage outside of the USDA Uinta Basin Salinity Control Unit,
<br />attached are letters dated December 8, 1987 and March 28, 1988 by
<br />Robert Rase1y and Jim Weston, respectively. This is the information that has
<br />been gathered to date. No decisions have been made regarding a course of
<br />action to annex these areas,
<br />
<br />At the present time we are exploring options and ideas on how the areas
<br />outside of the Uinta Salinity Control Project boundaries may be handled. In
<br />this process we will involve the SCS West National Technical Center (WNTC),
<br />SCS National Headquarters, and Ken Pitney, Colorado River Basin Salinity
<br />Control Coordinator. The annexation issue will also be discussed at the
<br />Technical Policy Coordinating Committee meeting at WNTC on May 24 and 25,
<br />
<br />I understand, per your discussions with Ken Pitney, that the annexation issue
<br />will not be on the forum work group meeting agenda in Santa Fe, New Mexico in
<br />May, but that it would be an agenda item at the following meeting. At that
<br />time SCS should be able to clarify its position and course of action.
