<br />Past, Present and Projected SalLnity Levels <br /> <br />Records and Basic Data <br /> <br />Evaluations of the salinity of the Colorado River have been made <br /> <br /> <br />by the Bureau of Reclamation, Geological Survey, Environmental <br /> <br /> <br />Protection Agency, and the Colorado River Board of California based on <br /> <br /> <br />streamflow and water quality data largely collected by the Geological <br /> <br /> <br />Survey in cooperation wi~h other federal and state agencies. The <br /> <br /> <br />water quality data are being obtained on a daily, weekly, monthly, <br /> <br /> <br />or quarterly basis on streams throu~~out the Basin by the Geological <br /> <br />Survey. Gaging stations in the Upper Basin that are of significance <br /> <br /> <br />to this study for which streamflow and water quality records are <br /> <br /> <br />available are described below. Figure 1 shows graphically the streamflow <br /> <br /> <br />and quality data that are available at each of the stations during <br /> <br /> <br />the study period 1941-73. IVhere breaks in the water quality sampling <br /> <br /> <br />record occurred during the 1941-73 period, the missing data have <br /> <br /> <br />been estimated by correlation with records at other stations. Con- <br /> <br />tinuing studies will serve to refine these data. <br /> <br />Colorado River near Cameo, Colorado. Stations is loca~ed 5.9 <br /> <br /> <br />miles upstream from Grand Valley Project Diversion Dam and 7 miles <br /> <br />"" <br />northeast of Cameo. Streamflow data are from October 1933 to the <br /> <br />current year. Water quality data are for the same period. <br /> <br /> <br />Colorado River near Cisco, Utah. The station is a mile downstream <br /> <br />from the Dolores River and 11 miles south of Cisco, Utah. Streamflow <br /> <br />data are from 1911 to the current year.
