The Shenandoah River Valley study was <br />one phase of the development of a comprehensive <br />water management plan for the Potomac and Shenandoah <br />River Basins in Virginia for the Virginia State <br />Water Control Board. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />J <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />, <br /> <br />Responsible for developing recommendations for a waste- <br />water treatment plant for Ayer, Massachusetts, to meet <br />EPA requirements for best practicable treatment. A <br />requirement was a design to meet the town of Ayer's <br />needs. Initial capacity would be 4.1 mgd (1995), with <br />possible regional capacity of nearly 7.4 mgd (1995). <br /> <br />Responsible for the design of approximately 1.5 miles <br />of 8 to 24-in. diameter interceptor sewer and 10 <br />stormwater division structures on combined sewers, <br />including approximately 2,700 ft. of dry weather <br />flow connecting sewers for the city of Portland, Maine. <br /> <br />Responsible for the development of a report on com- <br />bined sewer overflows for the city of Spriilgfie1d, <br />Massachusetts. Project objectives were evaluating <br />the city's combined sewer system and making recom- <br />mendations for upgrading the system. <br /> <br />Responsible for developing design flows for all inter- <br />ceptor sewers and the design and preparation of <br />specifications for 9 to 10 miles of sewers including <br />24 to 54-in. diameter interceptor sewers for the <br />Kennebec Sanitary Treatment District in Maine. Bid <br />price for the interceptor sewer contracts was approxi- <br />mately $2.6 million. . <br /> <br />...J <br /> <br />'1 <br /> <br />Other responsibilities included a literature search <br />and evaluation of phosphorus removal data required <br />for a report to the city of Pittsfield, Massachusetts <br />on additions and modifications to that city's waste- <br />water treatment facility; Phase I of a water and <br />wastewater faci1 ity inventory in Vermont and I!ew <br />Hampshire for the Upper Valley Planning and Develop- <br />ment Council; a report on the relief of intercepting <br />sewers for the Town of Wakefield, Massachusetts, <br />recommending approximately $1.2 million in improvements <br />to an existing pump station and force main. <br /> <br />CAMP DRESSER & McKEE <br />
