Armstrong <br /> <br />As president and Principal Engineer of Armstrong Engineers & Associates, Inc., <br />Mr. Armstrong has guided the firm's growth from a two man office in May of 1973 to a staff <br />of 15 to 25 professionals and technicians serving the Western United States and specifically <br />Rocky" Mountain West. The firm's growth has been based on meeting the needs of the area and <br />the goals of its clients. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Armstrong's background has been varied in professional responsibilities and geo. <br />graphical areas. He has been involved in highway construction as far north as Nome, Alaska, <br />and as far east as Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where Mr. Armstrong was the Project Engineer <br />on four contiguous I nterstate-80 projects. Mr. Armstrong was also the Project Engineer on the <br />Interstate 79 triple-level interchange located at Morgantown, West Virginia. Each of these pro- <br />jects were in the multi-million dollar category. <br /> <br />Mr. Armstrong's background also includes involvement in varying degrees with such <br />major dam projects as Grand Coulee Dam, Beltzville Dam and Two Lick Creek Dam. Mr. <br />Armstrong was directly reponsible for implementing a vibration control program at Grand <br />Coulee Dam's third power plant, using a newly developed surface delay system to meet the <br />critical acceptable vibration limitations on the on-line turbine generators. <br /> <br />o<J1 <br /> <br />Mr. Armstrong has been involved in research for in-situ testing of asphalt using piezo- <br />electric induced shear and compression waves. He has also written a treatise on "Foundations <br />and Utilities in Permafrost" which relates to Arctic area design. <br /> <br />Other past projects include major sewage collection and sewage treatment facilities <br />together with their engineering evaluation reports. He has designed major water systems which <br />have included well development, pumping, distribution systems, and storage. <br /> <br />-I <br /> <br />As a registered Professional Engineer and Surveyor, Mr. Armstrong is licensed in <br />Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Montana and Pennsylvania, with New Mexico license pending. He <br />is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Alaska. Some of his other accomplishments includes <br />commercial pilot rating, where he furnishes timely response to clients' needs with a Cessna 206 <br />aircraft. Mr. Armstrong holds the degrees Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma <br />State University, 1967, and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Alaska, <br />1966. Mr. Armstrong is an active member in such professional societies as the American Society <br />of Civil Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, Professional Engineers of <br />Colorado, Professional Land Surveyors of Colorado, and Montana Association of Registered <br />Land Surveyors. <br />
