One of the first assignments there <br />was 1-70 through Glenwood Canyon for which he directed an HNTB team <br />preparing a design concept study. He has served as project manager for <br />HUD-FIA flood insurance studies in Douglas and Boulder Counties, Flood <br />Hazard Area Del ineation studies in Douglas County, the Kipling Street <br />project in Lakewood, and numerous other Colorado planning and design <br />projects. <br /> <br />From 1971 to 1973, Mr. Anzia was a project manager in the Milwaukee office, <br />responsible for all work related to highway and bridge projects in that <br />office. Included were coordination of design work in and between offices, <br />project cost and control, and client 1 iaison. His experience covers rural <br />highway bridges, complex interchanges, fixed and movable bridges, and major <br />structures over water. He also assisted in general management of the office, <br />assuming duties and responsibilities designated by the engineer-in-charge. <br /> <br />From 1967 to 1971, Mr. Anzia was in charge of the bridge section in the <br />Milwaukee office performing all phases of work required for preparing <br />reports, preliminary plans, cost estimates, final design, contract plans <br />and specifications for highway and railroad bridges, retaining walls, and <br />related structures. Notable projects designed under his direction by <br />this section were the Harbor bridge, Lake interchange, and Park freeway <br />in Milwaukee, and the Mason Street bridge in Green Bay, Wisconsin. <br /> <br />For five years prior to 1967, he was a squad leader in the bridge section, <br />involved in the structural design and preparation of plans for various <br />steel and concrete bridges and associated construction. His earliest <br />assignments with the firm were as an engineer on design and detailing of <br />the same type of projects. <br /> <br />While at Marquette, Mr. Anzia was a student engineer for the Wisconsin <br />State Highway Commission from 1955 to 1958, acting as a construction <br />inspector and working on design and construction surveys for rural <br />highways. <br />
