,."

tion Sheet. The current need for this enhancement is in district 23 and on the Mainstem
Water Information Sheet, where the City of Aurora's daily operations greatly affect the
decisions made by the administrators of those areas. Aurora will provide a file detailing
their day's operations which will be read as the administrator opens his/her Water Infor-
mation Sheet for the day. S/he will check Aurora's numbers. make additions, and submit
the complete sheet to the central database. Though the nel".d is definl".d at this time only for
district 23 and the Mainstem Sheet, the enhancement will be generic enough so that it will
work for all districts.

A. CADSWES will enhance the routine which loads Water Information Sheets to
enable reading data from a text file. Each text file will hold data for a single Water District
and a single day. This name of the text file will indicate the date and district for which it
contains data. The protocol for loading the sheet will be as follows:

. Saved Sheet exists. IT a Water Information Sheet has been saved for the day being
loaded, any text file present will be ignored.

. No saved Sheet and no text file. IT a Water Information Sheet has not been saved
for the day being loaded, the application will look for a text file during the load
procedure. IT no text file is found, the application will simply indicate that the
Sheet was copied from a previous day.

. No saved Sheet and text file is present. IT a Water Information Sheet has not been
O 6 2 4 saved for the day being loaded and the application finds a text file for that day, the
data in the file will take precedence over data copied from a previous day's Sheet.
Data for rows not present in the text file will be copied from the previous day, and
any rows specified in the text file will be used instead of the previous day's values.
The resulting Water Information Sheet will indicate that the Sheet was copied from
a previous day and that data was read from a text file.

B. CADSWES and DWR will provide a location for outside users (e.g. City of
Aurora) to place their data files. This location will serve as a place to store the files for a
period of time to be determined. The SPWRMS application will look in this locationJor
any data files.

Task 3.

SPWRMS Maintenance

Completion Date: 3/29196

A. CADSWES will provide support services to maintain the SPWRMS application.
These services include, but are not necessarily limited to:

. Correcting software bugs as they are identified by users of the system.

. Adding new users to the system.

. Monitoring database activity as the amount of stored data increases.

. Monitoring concurrency as the number of users increases.

. Providing instruction to DWR staff who will maintain the system in the future.

B. DWR personnel will begin/continue to work on SPWRMS maintenance tasks with
CADSWES to further the process of becoming familiar with the architecture of the soft-
ware and database.
