5.0 The Edit Menu

The WIS for a given district does not include all structures within that
district, but rather those identified as key points of interest by that dis-
trict's Water Commissioner. The contents of the Structure Name
column are not immutable, although they cannot be changed by the
SPWRMS user. For instructions on how to add, delete, or rename a
structure, see the SPWRMS Database Manual.

.EIslm

The four columns immediately to the right of the Structure Name
penain to flow rates, tributary inflows, reservoir releases, and treat-
ment plant releases. Separate columns keep !rack of Natural and
Delivery flow or "colored" water. The third column provides a Total
of the Natural and Delivery columns. and the founh column identi-
fies Replacement water. The flow columns do not !rack river diver-
sions (discussed below).

Natural Flow
Natural Row describes the flow that would be in the river absent the
use of the river to deliver water, in other words, the flow rate of the
river available for diversion by the next water user in priority. The
Natural Row column should also be used to record those releases
from reservoirs, lransbasin sources, treatment plants, or other sources
that may be divened by the next downstream water user in priority,
SPWRMS will not accept typed entries in this column. rather it calcu-
lates Natural Flow values using the formula:
Natural Row = Total Flow - Delivery Flow

Delivery Flow

Values in the Delivery Row column represent water being delivered
downstream to a specific user. Delivery water is "colored" and can-
not be divened in priority the way Natural Flow water can. The
Delivery Flow column also records releases from reservoirs, lransba-
sin sources, treatment plants, and other sources of release water des-
tined for delivery to a specific downstream point.
An example of a delivery would be releases from Duck Lake in the
mountains to the Burlington Ditch headgate.
If a value in the Delivery column consists of deliveries by more than
one user. the multiple users should be identified in the comments col-
umn.

Total Flow

Total Flow is the actual physical flow rate of the river, tributary or
release indicated by the structure in the Structure Name column.

7/31/94

20
