O,l~'\ "'7
ullku

3.0 Running the Application

like Microsoft Paintbrush. Otherwise, use the metafile option. A
Windows metafile can be scaled without loss of resolution, and
imponed into any Windows document.

(1'ri1ll fURstio,.dii[y "as yet to De Implcll,,,,,te6 npl'where except the
~ ltl'Gr-egrel'h dial,,~. For example: clicking OK in the Prefer-
ences Editor, causes your preferences to change as well as closes the
preferences window. In some cases, clicking OK may produce a
warning dialog asking you if you are sure you want to proceed with
an action that cannot be undone.

Unlike OK, Cancel simply closes a dialog. without making any
changes to the internal state of the application. Clicking Cancel in
the Preferences Editor makes no changes to your active preferences.
Cancel and OK usually appear together as exit options from a dia.
log.

While Cancel closes a dialog. leaving no lasting changes, Close
closes a dialog wherein a prior action may have already produced
application changes. For example, in the Water Information Sheet,
the contents of a given Information Sheet may be wrillen to the South
Plalle database using Archive, or saved to a local disk file using
Save to Disk. In this context Close does nothing more than
close the Water Information Sheet dialog since its corresponding data
have already been wrillen outside of that window.

7

7/31/94
