Colorado <br /> <br />SPONSORING AGENCY: Yellow Jacket Water Conservancy District organized 9-29-59 <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION: <br /> <br />The project ~uld develop flows of North Fork of the "~ite River in Ripple <br />Reservoir, Lost Creek in Lost Park Reservoi~ and Milk Creek in Thornburgh <br />Reservoir for irrigation. fish ar:.d wildlife, and flood control. t1uniclpal and <br />industrial water also would be developed in Lost Park and Ripple Reservoirs. <br />The irrigation and municipal and industrial w~uld be conveyed to delivery points <br />and service ~reas by the Yellow J~ckct and Josephine Basin C~nals. Irrigation wate <br />in the Ki~K Cr~ck area would be conveyed by the tulk Creek Canal and the Juhb <br />Pumping Plant would lift part of the irrigation water to higher lying lands in <br />Axial Basin. Requests by the Colorado Division of Came, Fish, and Parks for <br />replace~ent of big-game range lost through irrigation of 'private lands has met. <br />with much opposition by the local people. <br /> <br />PROJECT PURPOSES: <br /> <br />IrriRation <br /> <br />Supplemental service land <br />Full service land <br />Tota 1 <br /> <br />3,690 acres <br />19,920 acres <br />23,610 acres <br /> <br />Municipal and domestic water: The development of 55,500 acre-feet for this <br />purpose would have ~nDual benefits $1,115,500. <br /> <br />Recreation: Visitations of 180,400 yearly would create benefits of $220,900 <br />annually. <br /> <br />Fish ~nd ~1ildlife: Visitations of 90,600 would create benefits of $128,700 <br />annually.
