<br />002818 <br /> <br />Review services <br /> <br />Review of proposed programs for collecting and interpreting hazard information. <br />Review of local, state, and federal policies, administrative procedures, and <br />legislative analyses that have a direct effect on hazard information. <br />Review studies and plans based on hazard information. <br /> <br />Benefits from Transfer <br /> <br />Providing educational, advisory, and review services to planners and decision- <br />makers will result in fuller and more effective use of landslide information <br />in addressing critical community, regional, and national issues. In addition <br />to avoiding landslide hazards and reducing losses, the following additional <br />benefits will accrue: <br /> <br />1. Avoiding duplication in the collection and interpretation of landslide <br />information, thereby conserving time and finanacial resources of <br />researchers. <br /> <br />2. Developing a more acute awareness and understanding among scientific, <br />engineering, and planning staffs of users' specific needs. <br /> <br />3. Assuring more correct and more appropriate uses of landslide information. <br /> <br />4. Transferring the methods of collecting, interpreting, and presenting <br />landslide information to users outside the study area. <br /> <br />5. Expediting the dissemination of critical landslide information needed on <br />which to base urgent community, regional, and national decisions. <br /> <br />6.
