"

- ':<~n O~~~'l

Operations Code Overview

Solve [CRAMHOOK.MOO]

This procedure is called here to solve the model for the project delivery tlow routing

step.

CheckProjectOeliveries [OOPROJCT.MOO]

This procedure sulves the problem that may arise when uSers specify demands which are
not immediately downstream from the reservoir or which have an intervening capacity
limitation (such as minimum instream tlow requirement) that may prevent a reservoir release
from being diverted. The model will permit deliveries to be made by exchange, provided that
there is enough tlow (including simultaneous project releases from other reservoirs) in all
intervening reaches to support the exchange. When a project release fails to reach its demand,
then the capacities of hoth the project's release arc and the demand's delivery arc are reduced
by the same amount and the tlow-routing step repeated.

Do PostPro jectOeliveriesAccou nting [DO PROJCT. MO 0]

The purpose of this procedure is to transfer information regarding project releases and
the two exchanges from the netwurk which simulates the operations uf the physical system to
the networks which represent Taylor Park and Ridgway reservoir accounting.

SaveProjectDeliveries [PROTOCOL.MOO]

This procedure freezes the tlow through the Cimarron Canal project gate based on the
tlow through the gate after the project del iveries step. The freezing of this gate is performed
to ensure that the water is not re-appropriated during another step to meet some other higher
ranked opportunity.

DoContractReleasesStep [SOLUTION.MOD]

This procedure searches through the i ist of instream tlow reaches and determines if there
is a need for contract tlow support releases from the reservoirs. It will make one SOlution
attempt to route the water from the reservoirs which are enabled for contract support. releases
to supply these reaches and then will freeze the minimum tlow arcs on these reaches. If there
is an iteration of the Outer loop this procedure relies on ResetZeroReleases to unfreeze the arcs
frozen by this procedure.

SetNewOpsReleases [GUNFRCST.MOD]

This procedme calculates the necessary amount of water to be released from each
reservoir based on either a forecast or storage target number passed from the model interface.
It also takes into account all previously calculated releases from the reservoir to determine if
the minimum release is being made. The water released by this procedure is considered free
water once it is below the reservoir and this design minimizes the amount of free water that
each reservoir must reklSe to the system. It also checks to see if the amount of water it is

8
