Decisions on trail opportunities and the
pipeline are beyond the scope of this Supplement. These possibilities can and should be discussed at a
later date between interest groups, BLM, USFS, and TransColorado.

One letter requested a specific seed mixture.

ResDonse: Seed mixtures will be developed at the direction of the Federal agencies or the private
landowner and detailed in the Plan of Development.

One letter requested the pipeline be realigned approximately 100 feet from his private land onto Federal
land.

ResDonse: This realignment has been reviewed with the others in this Supplement.

ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES ADDRESSED IN THIS DRAFT
SUPPLEMENT

.

It was determined in the FEIS that 23 resources or resource activities had the potential to be affected by
construction, operation, and maintenance of the TransColorado pipeline, At a minimum the analysis must
consider the BLM Critical Elements of the Human Environment (BLM 1996b) , The treatment of these various
elements is described below, Because of the more limited topical scope of this Draft Supplement, some
resource issues and activities would not be affected by the proposed activities or land use, or the expected
resource effects would be very small.

Following is a listing of resources that would be affected by the proposed activities being considered in this
Supplement. Impacts to these resources are analyzed in detail in Chapter 4 of this Draft Supplement.

Topography
Possible Subsidence Due to Mining of Underlying Leasable Minerals
Wetlands and Riparian Zones
Water Quality and Quantity (Municipal Water Supplies)
Soils
Wildlife
Threatened, Endangered, Candidate. and BLMjUSFS Sensitive Species
Cultural Resources and Native American Religious Concerns
Visual Resources
Socioeconomic Conditions Including Local Residents and Landowners

.

18

.
.
.
.
.

.

.

.

I
.

.

.

.

I

.

.

,

.

J
