Natur- <br />al chloride sources under study in <br />Ark River Basin are in vicinity of <br />Rattlesnake Creek, Kans & Great Salt <br />Plains & Cimarron River in Okla. Red <br />River Basin sources are in vicinity of <br />Elm Fork in Okla & Prairie Dog Town <br />Fork, Pease & Wichita Rivers in Tex. <br /> <br />Comprehensive survey-scope study of <br />flood problems & water resources in <br />study limits. <br /> <br />Comprehensive survey-scope study of <br />flood problems & water resources of <br />entire Cimarron River Basin. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Experimental works constructed around a brine <br />spring in vicinity of Estelline, Tex are <br />complete & have been placed in an operational <br />status. Part I (of 2-part report) recommends <br />construction of remedial works in Wichita <br />River Basin & was formally submitted to SWD <br />in Apr 65. Part II of report will soon be <br />submitted for field-level review & presents <br />evaluation of control plans for salt-source <br />areas in Ark-Red River Basins which are not <br />covered in Part I report. <br /> <br />Studies prior to FY66 were oriented toward <br />completion of interim report in FY66 on flood <br />problem near Halstead, Kans. Studies for an . <br />integrated plan of development for basin were <br />initiated with a public hearing 11 May 65 at <br />Wichita, Kens & are in progress. <br /> <br />Preliminary studies are complete & detailed <br />studies are in progress.
