Task R2 - Pseudo Code Development

Approach
Pseudo Code is an English like description of how data should be converted from its
origin to its destination, Pseudo Code often includes statements of logic and concepts, In
this task, RTi will develop a set of pseudo code to aid in converting data to HB - CRDSS,
RTi may need to examine sample data sets during this process to understand the
relationships between tables and develop any conceptual procedures to migrate and/or
populate the database,

RTi will document the pseudo code developed in this task for inclusion as a new section
in the Developer's Manual. This section is expected to contain text describing each
major data set in HB - CRDSS (e,g, Structures, Irrigated Acres, Geoloc, derived Water
Rights, Streams, Dams, Reservoirs, Headgates, Diversions, Stramflow, Precipitation,
Temperature, Evaporation, etc,)

Deliverable
RTi will:
1. Provide a draft section of the Developers Manual, which describes the Pseudo Code
developed in this Task, This section, which may be called Database Population, is
expected to be approximately 10 - 15 pages in length,
2, Incorporate State comments,
3, Provide a final section of the Developers Manual in the following formats: one hard
copy, one version in Microsoft Word, one version included in the existing on line
(HTML) Developers Manual.

Task R3 - Create Database.

Approach
In this Task, R Ti will perform the procedures necessary to create a new database, These
procedures include defining database spaces on the physical disk and writing the database
definition script, the table definition scripts and the scripts to check and populate the data,

During this process, RTi will work with State representatives to divide the database into
logical parts in order to facilitate the creation and sizing of database spaces on the hard
disk, Upon request by RTi, State representatives will provide information related to the
future use of HydroBase to assist RTi in the sizing and layout of the database spaces, The
space layout used for the CRDSS database will be used as a starting point and guide for
this process,

R Ti will create and run the scripts necessary to create the database spaces, the database
itself and the tables within HydroBase. The tables created under this task are presented in
Exhibit 1. The table creation scripts contain the table and attribute definitions as well as

09Z0

Scope of Work, HB - CRDSS, 12/20/96

4
