Task IlIa-5 Upper Colorado River Basin WRPM Enhancement

Objective: The Upper Colorado River basin model will be enhanced to include the
approximately 25 percent of current water use which was left "in the gage" in the
Phase II modeL Additional diversions and storage structures will be aggregated to
produce a manageable data set and to avoid significantly degrading computational
performance. The fmal model will be calibrated and documented.

Prerequisite: The Phase II Upper Colorado River Basin model is documented and calibrated with
approximately 75 percent of the current water use modeled and with irrigation
demands based on the 1993 GIS mapping in the calculated scenario.

Assumptions: - Study period is 1975 through 1991.
- Total irrigation consumptive use is defined as the consumptive use associated with
the irrigated acreage recorded in the CRDSS irrigated acreage spatial database.
Structures and water rights not tied to irrigated parcels will not be included in the
model, but will be documented as being excluded.

The subtasks for Task 5, Upper Colorado River Basin WRPM Enhancement, are the same as the
subtasks for Task 3 except for the basin of interest, the allocated budget, the projected work
schedule, and certain work activities within the subtasks as described below:

Task Leader: Meg Frantz (Boyle)

1034

Phase IlIa Scope of Services

A-46

June 12, 1996
