<br />J'" OOQ352 <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />DRAFT MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />File <br /> <br />October 25, 1996 <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Meg Frantz <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Sub task 3.07 - Generate Aggregated Parameters <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />This memo describes the results of Task 3.07, Generate Aggregated Parameters for the Yampa River basin. <br />The objecti ve of this task was: <br /> <br />For each aggregated node, calculate total or representative values of these strucure attributes: <br />administration number, ditch capacity, and irrigated acreage served. Create Statemod .ddr and interim <br />.dds files that include the aggregated irrigation structures. <br /> <br />Approach and Results <br /> <br />Parameters for each aggregated structure were calculated by the DMI watright, using the "aggregate" and <br />"wrclass" command line options. Watright was first executed with these options in order to see what would <br />be returned from the database, with these results: <br /> <br />· As observed in the White River basin, the irrigated acreages returned by watright did not exactly match <br />the irrigated acreage determined in Task 3.03 from the spatial database. We did not explore the <br />discrepancies because their cause was identified previously (see memo entitled "Sub task 2.07 White <br />, River Basin Generate Aggregated Parameters, dated ), and discrepancies were relatively <br />small. <br /> <br />· The ditch capacity reported for ADY _016 was 2,044.70 cfs, which is out of range relative to ditch <br />capacities for the other aggregated areas, and out of range relative to the total decreed amount for that <br />aggregation. The ditch capacity reported for ADY _026, which has only one structure in it, was zero. <br /> <br />. All other results were satisfactory. <br /> <br />Watright was executed a second time, with a "setdiv" command line option added to the command file for <br />each aggregated node. Structure name and, if appropriate, irrigated acreage and ditch capacity, were <br />modified with these commands. Irrigated acreage was thus set to the total acreage from the spatial database; <br />ditch capacities were set to the sum of the decreed rights for the aggregation. <br /> <br />Exhibit 1 shows the final command file used. Exhibit 2 is the report of aggregated water rights created by <br />watright. <br /> <br />BCJ'rILE <br />
