To load a different Water
Information Sheet than one currently displayed on your screen, click
the Load button within the WlS dialog. This action will produce the
same dialog as choosing Edit/Water Info. Sheet/Manual. In
the Load Water Information Sheet dialog, you can choose the district,
date and source for the WIS you would like to view.

5.4.3 Archiving

In order for the changes you make to a Water Information Sheet to be
permanently recorded in the central SPWRMS database. you must
explicitly archive them. To archive changes, click the Commit but-
ton within the Water Information Sheet dialog. If you are not con-
nected to the server, you will be prompted to dial at this time.

Before the Water Information Sheet is written to the database, PC-
SPWRMS will save it to your local hard disk. If for some reason the
application fails to transmit the WlS successfully to the central data-
base, you can try again using the saved WIS on your local disk.

Each time that a Water Information Sheet is committed to the data-
base, any previously saved WIS for that day is overwritten. You may
commit more that one WlS per day, but any previously committed
changes for that day will be lost.

5.4.4 Closing the Dialog

To close the Water Information Sheet dialog, click the Close button.
Close only closes the dialog, and does not automatically archive the
WIS or save it to a disk file.

5.4.5 The Layout

The Water Information Sheetis the focus of PC SPWRMS, and the
custom grid control is the focus of the Water Information Sheet dia-
log. The grid contains five types of columns: a Structure Name col-
umn, River Flow columns, Diversion columns, Storage columns,
and a Comment column. All WlS data represent values in cubic feet
per second (cfs) except those in the Storage columns which repre-
sent acre feet (at).

Structures

The Structure Name column contains headgates, gaging stations,
reservoir release structures, and waste treatment plant release struc-
tures. This column also includes points of imponance such as non-
gaged inflow estimates from tributaries.

19

7/31/94
