<br />- . <br /> <br />0J1761 <br /> <br />CHAPTER 1 <br /> <br />The Oil and Gas Geothermal Technical Report provides <br />additional background information and data for these <br />activities and more detailed analysis of the oij and gasl <br />geothermal resources than has been presented in this plan, <br />The report includes information on the fluid mineral <br />resources in the area and provides documentation on the <br />history and trends of oil and gas development within the <br />planning area. More details are in Appendix B. <br /> <br />The Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River Study Report <br />(Appendix E) provides the background information for <br />analysis to determine the eligibility of the 41.6-mile river <br />segment, which is mostly under BLM management, in the <br />very southern end of the planning area, The study report <br />includes maps, photos, and other documentation on the <br />assessment of the river oorridor as it relates to the national <br />criteria for a potential wild, scenic, or recreation river. <br /> <br />The environmental analysis required in the Wild and Scenic <br />Rive, Act is included in this draft RMP lEIS. The five affected <br />environmental ejements (minerals, wildlife values, <br /> <br />recreation, areas of special ooncern, and waterpower I <br />storage) are anajyzed in the DEIS. All other elements and <br />uses would not be affected by the wild and scenic riyer <br />proposal. Also all valid existing rights (e.g" grazing privileges, <br />leases, water rights) would not be affected by the proposal, <br /> <br />Other Related Agency Documents <br /> <br />To reduce or ejiminate oontlict between BLM and other <br />agency land management or land use pjanning responsi- <br />bilities in the San Luis Planning Area, other agency <br />documents have been closely reviewed and, where <br />appropriate, informatioo has been used, in the preparation <br />of this plan, In addition, land use plans for areas bordering <br />BLM have also been reviewed and analyzed during the <br />SLRMP planning process to avoid conflicts in jand <br />management.
