Conclusi ons <br /> <br />The major motion picture "Del iverence" has contributed to the <br /> <br />popularity of the Chattooga in addition to designation as a <br />National Wild and Scenic River. <br /> <br />-- The impostion of river management policies on lands that were <br /> <br /> <br />formally managed primarily for timber has improved the ri ver <br /> <br /> <br />environment substantially. Canoe safety has also improved. <br /> <br />-- Tourism income and seasonal employment occured in the towns <br /> <br /> <br />adjacent to major access sites but was not felt elsewhere. <br /> <br />-17- <br />
