<br />001828 <br /> <br />2530.43 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />TITLE 2500 - WATERSHED MANAGEMENT <br /> <br />2. Coordinate Forest Service water resource inventories, <br />investigations, data standards, analysis methods, and storage <br />and retrieval systems with other Federal" agencies at the <br />national level. <br /> <br />3. Recommend legislation needed to improve management <br />of the soil and water resource and resolve problems created <br />by legislation proposed by other entities. <br /> <br />2530.43 - Regional Forester. The Regional Forester shall: <br /> <br />1. Provide appropriate technical guidance and technical <br />training for scientific water resource staff to assist them <br />in preparing water resource protection and improvement pre- <br />scriptions and action plans. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. Coordinate Forest Service water resource inventory, <br />investigations, and monitoring programs among Forests and <br />other Federal and State agencies to avoid duplication of <br />effort and to capitalize on opportunities for mutual benefit. <br /> <br />3. Develop standards for data storage, data retrieval, <br />and water resource inventories used at the Regional level. <br /> <br />4. Establish quality control standards; develop guide- <br />lines and provide training on methods of data collection, <br />analysis, and storage. <br /> <br />5. Provide water resource management support services <br />to Forest Supervisors and coordination of support services <br />for inter-Forest projects and activities. <br /> <br />6. Maintain liaison with other agencies and universi- <br />ties to obtain supplemental expertise in water and related <br />resource management. <br /> <br />7. Review Forest water resource management support <br />services for consistency with established standards of <br />performance. <br /> <br />8.
