<br />OOQ53~ <br /> <br />. .. <br />. <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />DALLAS CREEK PROJECT <br /> <br />Authorization <br /> <br />The project was authorized for construction on September 30, 1968 <br /> <br />under Public Law 90-537, "Colorado River Basin Project Act", based on <br /> <br />findings presented in a feasibility report dated February 1966. Work <br /> <br />is now in progresa for preparation of a Definite Plan Report that is <br /> <br />scheduled for completion in February, 1973. <br /> <br />Plan and Purposes <br /> <br />The. project will be a multi-purpose development to regulate <br /> <br />water for municipal, induatrial, irrigation, recreation, flood control <br /> <br />and fi&hing use. <br /> <br />Ridgway Reservoir to be constructed on the Uncompahgre River <br /> <br />downstream from the town of Ridgway will be the principal feature of <br /> <br />the project, Surplus flows of the river and diversions through the <br /> <br />Cow Creek Feeder Canal will be regulated by the reservoir for downstream <br /> <br />project uses, The reservoir will also serve to replace water to existing <br /> <br />downstream users to allow additional project use of water upatream from . <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />J <br />i <br />, <br />, <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />the reservoir. <br /> <br />Flowa of Dallas Creek will be collected and conveyed by the <br /> <br />Dallaa Feeder Canal to the Dallaa Divide Reservoir to be constructed on <br /> <br />Pleasant Valley Creek, Some of the Dallas Divide Reservoir water will. <br /> <br />be released to Pleasant Valley Creek for downstream use but most of the <br /> <br />water will be conveyed to Log Kill Mesa by. the Log Kill Mesa Canal for <br /> <br />municipal, domestic and irrigation use. <br /> <br />i <br />t <br />I <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />~ <br />
