Stabilize Colorado's Population as Soon as Possible <br /> <br />The Colorado Environmental Commission as well as <br />numerous private groups and individuals have recommended <br />that Colorado's population be stabilized as soon as pos- <br />sible. <br /> <br />Benefi ts: <br /> <br />Substantial lessening of the pressures <br />that are tending to destroy Colorado's <br />attractive qualities, environment, and <br />resources. <br /> <br />Detriments: Levelling of economic activity might <br />occur with stultifying effect. . Also, <br />mechanisms are undesirable. <br /> <br />Mechanisms: Can all "selling" efforts, increase <br />governmental regulations, and increase <br />taxes? . <br /> <br />Question for Proponents: <br /> <br />How is it possible to lessen Colorado's attrac- <br />tiveness to outsiders without simultaneously <br />suppressing income levels of existing residents? <br /> <br />-5- <br />
