A list of considerations mentioned are; 1. Extending the model from the Wyoming- Nebraska state line to Lewellen, Nebraska is good idea. 2. Adding the groundwater returnflow function to the model for the river reaches below Whalen diversion should be given early consideration. 3. The proper calculation of power generation by the model will be important when evaluating operational changes. 4. Consideration should be given to determining habitat values and the need for daily or monthly analysis. 5. Provide discussion on limitation of the model and how it can be used. 6. Consideration needs to be given on how the present condition baseline will be used in determining the effects of existing operations on the T & E species. 7. Consider making a list of alternatives to be analyzed so model flexibility is programmed to enable it to consider a wide array of alternatives. The study team discussed the difficulties they were having trying to figure out what modifications Reclamation had made to the model from reading the user manuals, and thought it would be of benefit to them in reviewing the model if a more detailed write up on how the modified model operated would be made available. Reclamation agreed to work on such a write up before the next meeting. It was also discussed that presentations from the Bureau and states on the water accounting procedures would be beneficial to many of the study team members when assessing whether the model operates correctly. Reclamation will organize a presentation on water accounting for the next meeting.
