The objective of this task was as follows: <br /> <br />Formalize addition of the aggregated irrigation structures, as identified in Task 3.03 to the model. <br /> <br />Approach and Results <br /> <br />Add Aggregated Irrigation Structures to Network: Exhibit 1 presents a line diagram which includes <br />the 27 aggregated structures associated with Phase IllY ampa River Model. The aggregated structures <br />that were placed just upstream of a gage were made base flow nodes. Base flow nodes require the area- <br />precipitation parameter filled out in the .net file. The base flow area was calculated by subtracting out <br />the upstream gaged area from the downstream gage. The base flow precipitation was calculated by <br />subtracting from the downstream gage area-precipitation factor the upstream gages area-precipitation <br />factor and dividing this value by the base flow area. <br /> <br />The aggregate node ADY_004 BearRabvStagecoa was placed upstream of node 584213, which is a <br />Reservoirlbase flow node. The area-precipitation factor for 584213 was adopted for node ADY_004. <br /> <br />The aggregate node ADY_027 GreenRiver was also made a base flow node. Its area was calculated to be <br />877 sq-mi using the gis and the precipitation for this node was estimated to be 13 inches. The <br />command.rib file was modified to allow the calculation of base flow for ADY_027 GreenRiver from the <br />nearby gage 09260000 Little Snake River near Lily by using the setprf option. <br /> <br />The area for gages 09260000 Little Snake River near Lily and 09260050 Yampa River at Dearlodge was <br />changed to the area presented in the USGS streamflow books. The area is 7660 sq-mi for gage 09260050 <br />and 3730 sq-mi for gage 09260000. The average precipitation for both gages was set to 18.4 inches. The <br />area was changed to represent the .total area above the gage which includes area in Wyoming. The <br />precipitation was changed to represent the average precipitation for this total area. <br /> <br />Makenet was run with the new .net file and using the command file option with the command.rib file to <br />create the new .rin and .rib files and the network diagram shown in Exhibit 1.
