This will raise an issue <br /> <br />for the state vis-a-vis the Senator Hart South Platte study, <br />being handled by the Water Conservation Board, which study is <br /> <br />examining alternatives to the lower mainstem storage of water, <br /> <br />as exemplified by the Narrows. This study will not be completed <br />until early fall, 1981. To date, Monte Pascoe and Bill McDonald <br /> <br />have taken the position that the state continues, even in the <br /> <br />face o~ the study, to support the Narrows project and will do so <br /> <br />until such time as convincing evidence is brought forth which <br /> <br />indicates that the state should reconsider its position. <br /> <br />Water Conservation Board's position <br /> <br />Throughout the 19}O's, the Board consistently supported <br />all nine of the state's authorized projects although it did, <br /> <br />in 1973, after considerable debate and some controversy, set <br /> <br /> <br />priorities for the completion of planning and. initiation of <br /> <br /> <br />construction, as follows: <br /> <br />-7- <br />
