Table 7 shows that 16,605 additIonal acres might be put <br />into irrigated production assuming the croppIng patterns lIsted. <br />Northwest <br />The hIgh estimate for the Northwest Region envisions the <br />completion of the Savery-Pot Hook Project which would provide <br />10,700 additional acre-feet a year for agricultural depletIons. <br />Tabie 8 shows that 5,912 new acres could be put into irrIgated <br />production assuming cropping patterns whIch, except for a large <br />increase In alfalfa acreage and decrease in other hay, approxi- <br />mate those currently existing, All potentially irrigable lands <br />in this region are at relatively high altitude with short growing <br />seasons. As a result, the productivity of irrigated agricuiture <br />is low.
