<br />Note (11): For the entire Colorado River Basin, the U.S. Census
<br />and :Bureau of Reclamation data are in agreement. Note, however, that the
<br />:Bureau of Reclamation reports about 200,000 acres more in the Lower :Basin,
<br />largely in Arizona, and about 200,000 acres less in the upper Basin, about
<br />half in Colorado and the balance in Wyoming and Utah.

<br />Note (12): U. S. Census reported 844,494 acres irrigated, of
<br />which 702,279 acres of harvested cropland; 10,292 acres crop failure; and
<br />131,923 acres of irrigated pasture. Reports of District Water COIIIlIl1ss1oners
<br />and Irrigation Division Engineers show 887,476 acres irrigated in season of
<br />1939 and about the same in other recent years.
