The physical characteristics, historical, user, and station
databases will reside in Informix and will be relationally designed to allow the user
to extract data using structured query language (SQL) or an equivalent method,
and the spatial database will be based on a geographical information system (GIS).

2. The Infomix data will be linked to the GIS GRASS. This link between GRASS and
Infomix has been designed. There is now data available to test this design.

2.2.3 Test and Refine DMI Software

1. Preliminary work has been started testing the procedures to access some of the
data. This is preliminary because the databases are still being developed and we
are waiting for the data to be populated by the different database tasks before we
can directly access that data.

23 GUI Development

2.3.1 Implement GUI

1. Ported C libraries from an SGI to a SUN platform. These libraries are necessary
for developing the consumptive use GUr.

2. Improved, enhanced, and documented the IDS library of C routines to be used in
the consumptive use model.

7/13/94 - Draft of Task Memorandum

8

IDS Group, esu
