U02379

B. Stocking of species identified in Table 1 in other locations or
situations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Stocking of the
following additional species which occur in the Upper Basin but are not
included in Table 1 will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis:

o walleye (Stizostedion vitreum)
o yellow perch (perca flavescens)
o tiger muskie ([sox lucius x [sox masouinonov)
o wipers (Morone chrvsoDs x Morone saxatilis)

Case-by-case proposals would at a minimum include the following:

1. The purpose and location of the proposed stocking.
2. The species, numbers, and rationale for selecting the
species.
3. The potential for escapement, the potential for survival in
critical habitat if escapement occurs, and control measures
which could be implemented to reduce the risk of escapement.
4. The potential for impact to threatened and endangered
species and the specific measures available to remedy any
impacts which may occur including their feasibility and
likelihood of success.
5. A plan for monitoring the effects of the stocking on the
endangered Colorado River fishes.

C. Since the inception of the Recovery Program, the State of Colorado has
developed lake management plans for the following waters which have Peen
approved by the Service:

Rio Blanco Reservoir, CO
Hollenbeck Reservoir, CO
Mark Mesa Reservoir, CO
Chipeta Lake, CO
Crawford Reservoir, CO
Narraquinnep Reservoir, CO
Puett Reservoir, CO
Summit Reservoir, CO
Totten Reservoir, CO

These waters are exempted from further review under these Procedures
unless a substantive provision of the approved plan changes, such as
additional stocking is proposed which was not addressed in the plan.
These management plans and future stocking proposals which are evaluated
and accepted under these Procedures may be reviewed by mutual agreement
of the Service and the State wildlife agency to insure compatibility
with recovery objectives. Any party may petition the appropriate State
wildlife agency to review an approved stocking proposal based on new
information that was not previously considered in the development or
evaluation of the proposal.

7
