Under the Salinity Control Act, <br />Reclamation is required to contract with a non-Federal entity prior to initiation <br />of construction. <br /> <br />- Initial habitat replacement lands were acquired in 1988. An O&M contract for <br />the lands was signed with Colorado Division of Wildlife, The FY 1990 <br />program includes additional land acquisition and also habitat development. <br /> <br />- To date, completed construction activities for Stage Two have resulted in an <br />estimated annual salinity reduction of 20,600 tons resulting in a total reduction <br />for the Grand Valley Unit of 42,500 tons. . <br /> <br />7 <br />
