<br />'. . . #, <br />002679 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION Setting Forth Recommendations <br />Relative to the Plan for Development of <br />the Closed Basin Division, San Luis Valley <br />Project in Colorado <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by letter dated December 2, 1964, the Secretary of the Interior <br /> <br />submirred to the Honorable John B. Connally, Governor of Texas,. a report from <br /> <br />the Bureau of Reclamation entitled "Closed Basin Division, San Luis Valley <br /> <br />Project, Colorado" for his comments under the provisions of Section 1 (c) of <br /> <br />the Flood Control Act of 1944, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on February 5, 1965, the Honorable John B. Connally transmitted <br /> <br />said report to the Texas Water Commission for a review and suggestions relative <br /> <br />to the effect said project may have on the public waters of the State of Texas, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the provisions of Article 7472e, V.A.C.S. are not applicable to <br /> <br />this project due to its nature and location, but <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said project may affect the existing conditions and terms of the <br /> <br />Rio Grande Compact to which the State of Texas is a party and under which the <br /> <br />State of Colorado as of the end of the calendar year 1964, had an accrued <br /> <br />deficit of 8l0,800 acre-feet of water: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TEXAS WATER COMMISSION that the <br /> <br />Honorable John B. Connally, Governor of the State of Texas, give consideration <br /> <br />to advising the Department of Interior that the State of Texas waives any and <br /> <br />all objections to authorization of said project provided: <br /> <br />1. That all works shall be constructed and operated so as to produce <br /> <br />the maximum net benefit as determined by the Secretary of the Interior, and <br /> <br />"'. <br />'-'--~ <br /> <br />.-, <br />
