<br />002095 <br /> <br />, <br />! <br />~ <br /> <br />l.() BACKGROUND <br /> <br />1.1 Purpose <br /> <br />'rhe purposes of this report are,' <br /> <br />a) to determine the engineering scope of work and related <br />costs ~or each specific area of concern identified by the <br />local governments which they feel constitute an imminent <br />threat as defined by the state's criteria and which deal with <br />dikes, levees, river channel conditions, and other flood <br />control facilities. <br /> <br />--- <br /> <br />b) to identify those potential projects that qualify under <br />the state's criteria for emergency work as con'tained in <br />"Guidelines for the Administration of the State Disaster <br />Emergency Fund," and those that might qualify for federal <br />assistance. <br /> <br />,. <br />. <br />!; <br />I <br /> <br />c) to make recommendations to local governments concerning <br />application for federal assistance. <br /> <br />d) to provide a dollar estimate of the long term flood <br />control costs facing the Counties, <br /> <br />1.2 Scope <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />This is a reconnaissance level investigation of impacted <br />areas on the Rio Grande conducted by a State Damage Survey Team <br />from July 30, 1 Sl85 through August 3, 1985.
