<br />O[)0719 <br /> <br />SUMMARY OF WATERS MANAGED FOR ANGLING RECREATION <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />INTENSIVE MANAGEMENT WATERS - Intensive management waters are <br />managed to provide the highest possible level of fishing <br />recreation within the limits of the facilities and physical <br />environment to support such use at the least cost. The <br />primary management objective is to provide fish for anglers to <br />catch and keep through stocking rates that ensure full use of <br />available facilities and maximize return to the creel. Waters <br />are managed under this concept when the angling demand cannot <br />be met by other management options due to low qr'ductivity or <br />an intensity of angler use that precludes the use of other <br />management techniques. <br /> <br />The Lower South Platte Basin contains 2,982 acres of <br />Intensive Management water. There is one water in each <br />of the two management groups. <br /> <br />CATEGORY: Warmwater lakes less than 100 acres <br />stocked with catchable trout and <br />fingerlings or with natural recruitment. <br /> <br />1. Name: Akron City Lake <br />Acres: 15 County: Washington <br />Location: R52W, T2N, 517 <br />ownership: city of Akron, with a fish stocking <br />agreement. <br /> <br />CUrrent Management: The lake is managed through a <br />combination of fish stocking and habitat improvement. Annual plants <br />of fish include: catchable rainbow trout at 70 fish per acre, <br />channel catfish at 25 fish per acre, largemouth bass and hybrid <br />bluegill at 65 fish per acre, and periodiC plants of hybrid grass <br />carp at 3 fish per acre. <br /> <br />CATEGORY: Warmwater reservoirs greater than 500 <br />acres stocked with catchable trout and <br />fingerlings or with natural recruitment. <br /> <br />2.
