Instead, these relation-
ships are maintained by the SPWRMS application. For example. the structure rows in the
water information sheet must all be structures present in the phS_structures table.
SPWRMS maintains this relationship between tables. See Figure 1 for an entity-relation-
ship diagriun of the SPWRMS database.

Static Tables

Static tables contain data which change infrequently; i.e.. not during a run of the applica-
tion.

Diversion structures The structures table is a copy of the SEO DBase tables relevant to Division I. Structures
which are wells or springs have been removed from the table. The table contains all
columns supplied by SED: however. only the following columns are used by the
SPWRMS application:

-,'(\_\1$(_ ,-od~

C \ U C ~ de. ~ ** indicates primary key

Column Description
wd ** Water district of structure
id ** ID of structure
name Name of structure

Database Table 1: ph5_structures

Stream gauges The streamgauges table was created ar CADSWES to hold information about satellite flow
structures. The following columns are used by the SPWRMS application:

Column Description
wd ** Water district of gauge
gageno ** Unique gauge ID
abbrev SPWRMS 8-character abbreviation for gauge
has data Indicator for whether gauge collects data
transmtn Indicator of transmountain flow
fullname Full name of structure
valuetype 4-character string indicating flow, storage, and elevation data.

** indicates primary key

Database Table 2: gagingstations

The state gauging stations and their datatypes are mapped to SPWRMS gauges abbrevi-
ated in the table station_code_lu. Each Static gauge may have several datatypes (e.g.. the
station HFCWASCO has three datatypes. DlSCHRG. Q_l. and Q_2). Each
stationldatatype pair is mapped to a SPWRMS station abbreviation (the "abbrev" column
in the gagingstations table). For example, HFLWASCOIDISCHRG is represented in

Database Manual

3
