<br />SUMMARY: Notice is hereby given of
<br />proposed contractual actions pending
<br />through March 1992. This notice is one
<br />of 8 variety of means being used to
<br />inform the public about proposed
<br />contractual actions for water sen-ice
<br />and repayment. The Reclamation
<br />announcements of individual repayment
<br />and water service contract actions will
<br />be published in the Federal Register and
<br />in newspapers of general drculation in
<br />the areas determined by Reclamation to
<br />be affected by the proposed action,
<br />Announcements may be in the form of
<br />news releases. legal notices. official
<br />letters. memorandums. or other forms of
<br />written material. Meetings. workshops,
<br />and/or hearings may also be used. as
<br />appropriate, to provide local publicity,
<br />The public participation requirements
<br />do not apply to proposed contracts for
<br />the sale of surplus or interim irrigation
<br />water for 8 term of 1 year or less. The
<br />Secretary of the Interior or the district
<br />may invite the pubHc to observe any
<br />contract proceedings. All public
<br />participation procedures will be
<br />coordinated with those involved in
<br />complying with the National
<br />Environmental Policy Act if Reclamation
<br />determines that the contract action may
<br />or will have "significant" environmental
<br />effects.
