.

.

.

0022~7

RECOMMENDATION

It is the recommendation of the Task Force that

A. Working Floodway boundary maps should be at I" =
400' scale with 2-foot contours.

B. Contour maps should be developed using existing data
and using aerial photography mapping for areas where
current information is not available. Resolution
will be accurate to + 1 foot elevation.

C. Contour mapping should be overlain on sufficient
topographic detail to identify existing structures
and present land use.

D. The official maps should be prepared at the same
scale on the USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle map sheets.
The numeric Floodway elevations should be shown on
the official Floodway boundary maps at approximately
I-mile intervals.

E. Basic data from the flood routing models should be
maintained in a readily useable format and an easily
transferable computer base (i.e., floppy disks) to
assist entities in determining the water surface
level and the Floodway boundaries at site specific
locations.

F. The official Floodway boundary maps should employ
the Federal Emergency Management Agency legend and
techniques in identifying the Floodway and the
Floodway Fringe to provide for the ease of adoption
and use by the Federal Emergency Management Agency
and local governing bodies.

VI-3
