The Secretary of the Interior, in <br />consultation with tribes, should conduct <br />assessments of needed work and establish, <br />with the approval of the tribes, priority <br />programs for implementing improvements. <br /> <br />II. The Indian tribes should adopt regulations that <br />meet the minimum criteria of the National Flood <br />Insurance program and that include the Task <br />Force's recommended regulation amendments for <br />the Colorado River Floodway. The Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency should conduct <br />flood hazard area mapping of Indian <br />reservation lands along the lower Colorado <br />River, in consultation with the Bureau of <br />Indian Affairs and the Indian Tribes, for <br />the purposes of identifying floods hazards <br />and tribal participation in the National <br />Flood Insurance Program. <br /> <br />~ <br />\ <br />
