<br />., <br />~~ <br /> <br />Table 1 <br />Executive Summary <br /> <br />o <br /><:;) <br />N <br />i- <br />= <br />CJl <br /> <br />Chapter IV <br /> <br />Recommendations (continued) <br /> <br />x <br />....' <br />....' <br />....' <br /> <br />The Congress should direct, and provide sufficient funding <br />for, the Bureau of Indian Affairs to (a) assist the Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency. in flood hazard area mapping of <br />reservation lands along the lower Colorado River for the <br />purposes of identifying flood hazards and tribal <br />participation in the National Flood Insurance program, (b) <br />ensure that remedial measures recommended by Tas,k Force <br />are carried out, (c) establish a liason at the local level <br />between the Bureau of Reclamation and the Bureau of Indian <br />Affairs to ensure the implementation of the Act is <br />consistent with the trust responsibilities of the United <br />States to the five tribes whose lands are located within the <br />Floodway, and (d) carry out the recommendations of the <br />Secretary of the Interior resulting from an analysis of the <br />effects of the Floodway Act on the economic development of <br />the Indian tribes. <br />
