<br />t <br />'. <br /> <br />Table 1 <br />Executive Summary <br /> <br />Chapter IV <br /> <br />o <br />C <br />N <br />i-" <br />C.O <br />W <br /> <br />Recommendations (continued) <br /> <br />The Congress should provide sufficient funding for the <br />united States Section of the International Boundary and <br />Water Commission to cooperatively study with Mexico <br />needed river bank and channel improvements and, in <br />conjunction with the Bureau of Reclamation, to provide <br />long-term maintenance of the Floodway between the Northerly <br />and southerly International Boundaries with Mexico. <br /> <br />>< <br />...' <br /> <br />The Congress should direct, and provide sufficient funding for, <br />the Corps of Engineers to incorporate the Floodway and its <br />provisions into the Hoover Dam Flood Control Regulations, <br />including potential improvements in the coordination <br />of tributary flood control releases. <br /> <br />The Congress should direct, and provide sufficient funding for <br />the United States Geological Survey, in cooperation with the <br />Bureau of Reclamation, to assess needs for tributary gage <br />installation, and install and operate gages deemed necessary. <br /> <br />The Congress should direct, and provide sufficient funding <br />for, the Coast Guard, in conjunction with the Bureau of <br />Reclamation and appropriate local entities, to develop <br />procedures for determinations and notifications for <br />river navigation restrictions when flood control releases <br />from Davis Dam and Parker Dam exceed 28,000 cfs. <br /> <br />The Congress should direct, and provide sufficient funding <br />for the Soil Conservation Service, Department of Agriculture, <br />to assist community, county, and tribal flood control <br />entities in assessing the feasibility of erosion control <br />measures for major tributaries of the lower Colorado River. <br />
