<br />Mr. Proudfit'S associatIon with Black & Veatch began In 1936 as field
<br />offIce engineer lor an Irrigation prOject at Ord. Nebraska. From 19]9 to
<br />1943 he was deSigner draftsman on water and sewerage works plans; as-
<br />sistant planning engineer for Camp Robu\son, Arkansas. In charge of Civil
<br />deSign for Camp Chaffee, Arkansas, and aSSisted In a structural appraisal
<br />fOf Houston Lighting & Power Company.

<br />Mr. Proudfit served In the United States Navy Construction Englneerll1g
<br />Corps from 194] to 1946. From service discharge to 1950, whde completing
<br />undergraduate study, he contInued englneerlOg practice.

<br />In 1950, Mr. Proudfit returned to Black & Veatch as a prOlect engineer
<br />and manager In water supply. treatment, diStribution and storage prOJects,
<br />prinCipally for Aurora and Colorado Springs, Colorado; Superior, Madison
<br />and Milwaukee, WisconSIn: Cloquet and St. Paul, Minnesota, and Sedalia,
<br />Jefferson City and St. lOUiS, MISSOUri. He has made extenSive studies
<br />and planned numerous treatment plants, pumping StatIons, rock and earth-
<br />fill dams, pipelines and lime recalcining and washwater reclaiming fa-
<br />cilities and has supervised construction of mOSt facilities completed,
<br />He has been associated with variOUs studies and designs of primary,
<br />biological, secondary and chemical wastewater treatment prOlects, for
<br />both new plants and converSion of eXisting plants, Including Wichita,
<br />Kansas, and Green Bay and Two R,vers, WisconSin.

<br />Mr. Proudfit has had numerous papers published In sCientifiC journals on
<br />dams, pipelines, treatment plants. plann,ng for waterworks, equipme~t,
<br />systems storage, and disposal of water plant wastes. He IS also chairman
<br />of the AWWA Standards Committee on Steel Pipe and past chairman or
<br />the AWWA DistrIbution DiVision.
