Walker
Director

FROM: Dan Merriman

DATE: December 27, 1991

SUBJECT: Wilderness Instream Flow Tabulation

Several requests have been made for information on instream flow segments which
are located in wilderness areas. As a result, the attached "Wilderness Instream Flow
Tabulation" was compiled for those instream flow segments which are either entirely or
partially within a designated wilderness area. This information is preliminary pending final
proofing.

In reviewing the tabulation, please make note of the following: .

· The tabulation is sorted alphabetically by wilderness name first, watershed name
second, and stream name third.

· The designation date identified for each wilderness area is the original date of the
enactment of a wilderness area under a given public law. A number of the areas
have had subsequent amendments which are not identified on the tabulation. For
example, Indian Peaks was designated under PL 95-450 on October 11, 1978. It was
later amended by PL 95-560 on December 12, 1980. The original date of October
1978 is the only date shown on the tabulation.

· This tabulation only identifies those instream flows in existing wilderness areas. A
tabulation of proposed wilderness areas was not created.

· This wilderness tabulation is accurate as of July 1990 (the date of the last Instream
Flow Tabulation update). As a result, information on some of the Board's more
recent filings may not be included in this tabulation.

DCM/JB

W1LDDATA.MEM
