Morrill Colorado Water Conservation Board 1313 Sherman Street Denver CO 80203 COLi), ,....; CONSERVAT;ON' ~~ARD Dear Mr, Morrill: Enclosed are two copies of the report, "Impacts on the Lower Colorado Region Resulting From Alternative Levels of Emerging Energy Development in the Upper Colorado Region," which was transmitted to the U,S, Water Resources Council on October 25, 1979, by the Commissioner, The report was prepared under authority of section 13(a) of the Nonnuclear Energy Act of 1974 and by Memorandum of Agreement between the U.S, Water Resoures Council and the Water and Power Resources Service. This report supplements the Council's study in the Upper Colorado Region which was managed by the State of Colorado and for which the Water and Power Resources Service prepared the hydrologic data base and river operation studies. Consequently, those hydrologic details plus the derivation of the alternative futures have not been dupli- cated in this report. We understand that the Counci 1 wi 11 incorporate this report and the Upper Colorado Region report into one document and publish it as a basin impact analysis report, We appreciate the assistance you provided to the study's Department of the Interior Adviser, Mr. Kenneth Kauffman, during the final preparation of this assessment report.
