S. Highway 85. The main-line tracks of

the Union Pacific Railroad between Wyoming and eastern colorado run

through Nunn.

Historically, Nunn has been a rural community, supported

almost entirely by an agricultural economy. In recent years, how-

ever, there have been increasing numbers of citizens who have made

Nunn their home and have commuted to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and to the

Greeley area for employment. The current population of Nunn is 300.

The town currently has a critical water quality problem with

its existing water supply, due to high nitrates. The present water

supply for Nunn is derived entirely from wells in the valley allu-

vium.

PROBLEM

The most critical need in improvements to the town's water

system at this time is to solve the nitrate problem associated with

the raw water supply.
