<br />r~ONTHLY RI:POIlT <br />BAll LUIS VALL1'Y PROJECT, COLORilDO <br />l\!aroh 1956 ' <br /> <br />.Rio Grande Divis;!.on <br /> <br />No work was soheduled for the Division and none was accomp- <br />lished during the month. <br /> <br />Closed Basin Division <br /> <br />The i'luotuation of the ground water table was measured at <br />seleoted walls during the month. <br /> <br />Samples of water ware taken from pre-established sampling <br />wells during the month. Conduotance tests wore run on the samples <br />taken in order to determine the total dissolved solids present in <br />the water samples. ' <br /> <br />The Project Manager spent the week of Maroh 12-16, in the <br />Regional Ottice, Amarillo, Texas, working on a reoonnaissance report <br />concerning a possible plan of development for water salvage measures. <br /> <br />The Projeot Manager and Regional Project Development Engineer <br />attended a meeting of the Colorado WBter Conservation Board in Denver, <br />Co1orlldo, on March 19, 1956. The Boord agreed to ref'ar the matter of <br />state partioipation in :l.nvestigative work of' this Div:l.s:l.on to the <br />Closed Basin Dre:l.n Comm:l.ttee .. Since that t1me the Governor of Colorado <br />has deoided that no stete funds should be spent on this work. <br /> <br />Conejos Division <br /> <br />No work was aocomp1ished on this Division during l~roh. <br /> <br />General <br /> <br />The Projeot Manager attended the regular monthly meeting of' <br />the Board of DireCtors of the San Luis Valley Water Conservanoy Dis.. <br />tr:l,ot whioh WIll! held in Alsmollll, Colorado on Maroh a, 1956. The Board <br />passed Q resolution advooating state tiooncinl p!lrtic:l,pat.1on in the in- <br />vestigative work of the Closed Basin Area. <br /> <br />APnl 1 snow surveys were begun on Maroh 26 and finished on <br />March 30.
