A dec1sion was <br />reached to inveet1gate water importation schemes by using State funds <br />which bad previously 'been appropriated by investigation of water IilAlvage <br />possibilities in the Closed :Ba,,-:in Area, Use of tho fundo vas denied by <br />the Governor of Colorado. <br /> <br />Conejos Division <br /> <br />During flhe month (the Rio Grande Compact Comm1sstoner for <br />Colorado attempted to secure permission from the, COmmissioners tor <br />Now Mexico and Tsxas to release water stored in Pla'oro <br />Reservoir. '1'1'118 request was denied. <br /> <br />I <br />On June 22, the Proje~ Manacer con:t'erred afl Platoro, with <br />several water users on flhe Bureau's handling of water sflored in Platoro <br />Ileservoir. Among the vater-usere present were fotUl' members ot the l3oal:'l'l <br />of Directors of tho Oonejos Wa.ter Conservancy D1str1~. <br /> <br />Closed :Basin Division <br /> <br />Measurements were made of the fluctuations of the ground <br />water ta.ble at selectsd wells during the month. <br /> <br />Samples of water were taken from wello at established <br />sall\Pl:1ng points and oonduotance tests run to determine the quality in <br />relation to the requirements of the Rio Grande Oompact. <br /> <br />General <br /> <br />Mrs. Wilma I.
