It also "auld provide benefits to flood control, recrea- , <br />tion, and fish and ,iildlife conservation. <br /> <br />Project lands in the Yampa River Basin in the Milk Creek segment of the <br />project "auld be served by Milk Creek flo"s regulated at the potential <br />Thornburgh Reservoir. The water "auld be conveyed to the land by the <br />Milk Creek panal and distributed by the lIes Lateral, Jubb Plli~p Lateral, <br />and smaller: laterals as required. Lands near Meeker, Colo., in the proj- <br />ect's WhiteiRiver segment "ould receive water from the North Fork of Whit~ <br />River with storage provided at the Ripple Reservoir on the Ncrth ForJ, anrl <br />the Lost Park Reservoir on Lost Creek, a North Fork tributary. Some ,m" <br />tel' "auld also be diverted to the Lost Park Reservoir from tributaries of <br />Williams }"ork in the Yampa River Basin. Those at Thornburgh Reservoir "auld be provided at project <br />cost. Fish and "Iildlife measures "ould include replacement of the exist- <br />ing.Axial Reservoir "ith water from Thornburgh Reservoir and operation of <br />Axial Reservoir for fish, construction of big-game proof fence along sec- <br />tions of project canals, and acquisition and development for big game of <br />14,000 acres of private land in the Oak Ridge area and ?,800 acres of ad- <br />joining public domain. <br /> <br />ADMINIS'l'RATION <br /> <br />The Yello" Jacket Water Conservancy District "auld serve as the project <br />contracting and administrative agency.
