.

Objective: For the Boyle Group to gain necessary background on the capabilities and limitations of the
utility programs that access the database and manipulate the data.

Approach:
I. Boyle: Brief review of On-Line documentation and man pages of the watright, demandts, tstool
and crdssgr programs to gain a' familiarity with those OMIs.
2. Boyle: Through a CROSS workstation login session exercise each OM! through several of the
examples provided on the man page. '
3. STATE: Ray Alvarado will.be available during the OMI review process to facilitate an
understanding of those data utilities (budgeted for 2 hours),

Deliverables:
I. Boyle familiarity, through documentation review, of primary CROSS data management interfaces,
2. Boyle familiarity, through example applications, of primary CROSS data management interfaces,
3. State support of Boyle familiarization with primary CROSS DM!s.

Task 1.08

Review the Consumptive Use Model and GIS Basis

Objective: To have the Boyle group become familiar with the consumptive use modeling envirolU11ent
. which will be required for the proper development of the irrigation structure demands in thc watcr
resource planning models.

Approach:
1. Boyle: Review On-Line documentation for the consumptive use modeling tool and interface while
exercising the various features of the tool and interfaee.
2. Boyle: Review the On-Line documentation and examples of process to calculate consumptive use
demands for StateMod modeled structures and create StateMod input file (* ,ddm),
3, STATE: Ray Alvarado will be available during the CU model and GIS basis review process to
facilitate an understanding of those system features (assumed 2 hours).

Deliverables:
1. Boyle familiarity, through documentation review and exercising the features of the interface, with
the consumptive use program.
2. Boyle familiarity, through documentation review and example applications, with the linkage
between the water resource planning model and the consumptive use program.
3, State support of Boyle familiarization with consumptive use model and StateMod linkage.

Task 1.09

Report on CRDSS Component Areas of EffeetivenesslDesired Enhancement

Objective: To provide constructive, written feedback on CROSS components based on Boyle's
. familiarization and usage process. This feedback is valuable since is comes from a fresh aspect outside
the Phase II development team.

Phase lIIa Scope of Services

1180

A-4

Jan31,1997
