.

.

..

GDJ371

. hydrology "database": the database contains the natural flows (in 1 ODD's
of acre-feet) and the monthly salt loading values (in 1 ODD's of tons) for each of
the 29 hydrologic inflow points. These data are passed to CRSM via a binary
data file from MHYDRO.

. demand "database": the user supplies an ASCII demand input file to
SMDID which is processed and presented to CRSM in another ASCII file. For
each demand point, the annual diversion volume (in 1 OOO's of acre-feet) and
the annual depletion or consumptive use (in 1000's of acre-feet) are entered for
a certain year. Between yearly values entered, the user specifies to SMDID
whether the demands and depletions are to be held constant or linearly
ramped. The user also inputs the monthly distribution (in percent) for
disaggregation. The percentages must add to 100, but some may be negative
indicating that the diversion returns water in some months without taking water
in those months. The user may also specify the annual salt "pickup" (in ppm)
due to leaching or other direct salt additions. Note that this does not include
the concentrating effect of irrigation which is handled by CRSM. The salt
pickup may be negative, indicating that the diversion is a WQIP. The annual
salt pickup is disaggregated to monthly values using the monthly distribution for
demands and depletions; however this monthly distribution can be overridden
by data supplied to the model.

. CRSM: the user supplies data to the model via an ASCII control file. The
initial reservoir concentration (in mg/L) is input on the RESERV cards. The
monthly distribution of annual salt pickup for a return flow can be overidden by
inputting a monthly percent on the TONPCT cards. CRSM also allows for
modification of certain paramters during the course of the simulation via the
"transaction" cards. For diversions, the percent of water diverted which is
return flow, the allowable shortage percentage, the percent of return flow which
is returned to the river, and the TDS pickup (in ppm) can all be modified.

All initial values and input time series data to support the TDS methods will be
populated by the input DM!.
