ALTERNATIVE DESCRIPTION AND EVALUATION

7.1 GENERAL

The evaluation of rehabilitation options for Beaver Reservoir is based upon the
information obtained from earlier work combined with the results of our field
investigation. A general description of the alternatives is', presented below. The
estimated costs for each alternative are presented in Tables 7-1 through 7-5.

7.2 ALTERNATIVE DESCRIPTIONS

Five potential alternatives were selected as reasonable and appropriate based on the
results of our investigations and our accumulated experience in dam rehabilitation. The

The ceme~f"benionite slurry cutoff wall (CB wall) would be approximately 700 feet long
and 80 feet deep:' To complete construction of the slurry wall, it would be necessary to
mobilize large equipment and supplies such as cement and bentonite to the site. The
current access road to the site is narrow and winding in a number of locations and steep
in others and would probably need improvement to allow passage of some heavy
equipment and flat-bed trucks for supplies. Additionally, to provide an adequate
working platform for construction, it would be necessary to remove approximately the
