A general description of the alternatives is', presented below. The
estimated costs for each alternative are presented in Tables 7-1 through 7-5.

7.2 ALTERNATIVE DESCRIPTIONS

Five potential alternatives were selected as reasonable and appropriate based on the
results of our investigations and our accumulated experience in dam rehabilitation. The
five alternatives are: -. ,

'--

-,

1. Cement-bentonite slurry cutoff wall .
2. Soil-bentoniteslurry cutoff wall
3. The
current access road to the site is narrow and winding in a number of locations and steep
in others and would probably need improvement to allow passage of some heavy
equipment and flat-bed trucks for supplies. Additionally, to provide an adequate
working platform for construction, it would be necessary to remove approximately the

23067/Rl.7 09-03-93(lO:lSam)/RPT

7-1
