The Association has submitted an application for
funding to construct the raw water portion of a rural domestic water system. PMRCA is
requesting a loan in the amount of $150,0110, 75 % of the estimated total project cost of
$200,000.

Potable water is in short supply due to the low yield and poor quality of area wells. Some wells
produce as little as 40 gallon in 24 hours (less than 2 gallons per hour). Many residents are
forced to haul water from Ignacio at a cost of about $100 per month.

Preliminary engineering and feasibility work have been completed by Charles Palmer, President
ofthe Association, using information provided by their surveyor. Significant work has also been
completed by the Association's attorney to acquire the water rights needed for the project.

DISCUSSION

The new system will provide the residents with a reasonable supply of water for the first time.
The water can be used for in-house use (treatment by the individual water users may be
required) and for irrigation of up to one acre of ground.
